Why I Left Everything: My Truth, My Journey

Life is full of pivotal moments that challenge us to reevaluate everything we thought we knew. For me, stepping away from full time ministry, my business, and blogging wasn’t just a decision; it was a calling to step into a deeper journey of self-discovery and truth. In this post, I’ll share why I left everything behind, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and how this transformation is shaping my path forward.

Walking away from everything I’d built wasn’t easy. I had spent years cultivating a platform and a community, but something in me felt unsettled. I realized that everything I've been tough, was basically a lie. My faith, my identity, and my truth needed to be reexamined, and that meant letting go to make space for something new

This past year has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. I spent time in reflection, dove deep into scripture and history, and explored what it truly means to live authentically. Here are a few of the lessons that stood out:

  1. Authenticity Requires Courage: Being true to yourself means confronting uncomfortable truths and making bold choices.
  2. Faith is a Journey, Not a Destination: Denouncing Christianity didn’t mean losing my connection to the Most High. Instead, it deepened as I explored faith on my terms.
  3. Growth Requires Letting Go: Sometimes, you have to leave behind what no longer serves you to step into your true purpose.

As I return to blogging and sharing my journey online, you can expect content that is deeply personal, honest, and purposeful. I’ll be focusing on:

  • Bible-based reflections that inspire and challenge.
  • Black history and the importance of knowing where we come from.
  • Lifestyle content that aligns with intentional living.
  • Resources to help you embrace your truth and walk confidently in your purpose.

This isn’t just about sharing my story—it’s about building a community of truth-seekers who are ready to embrace authenticity and live with purpose.

My hope is that my journey resonates with someone who feels stuck, lost, or unsure of their next step. If that’s you, know that you’re not alone. Transformation isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.

5 Ways Mothers Can Embrace Winter Rest (Without the Holiday Chaos)

By Zak L. Grace | AuthenticallyZ

I used to get caught up in the holiday pressure—decorating, scheduling, overgiving—only to end up tired and disconnected. Now? I look at this winter season as what it truly is: a time for slowing down, resting, and reconnecting with Yah and my family.

If you’re feeling pulled in a million directions or unsure how to navigate this season without falling into the trap of stress and tradition, here are 5 grounded ways to shift your energy toward peace and purpose.

1. Honor Your Relationship with the Most High

Winter is a set-apart time—a time to pause, reflect, and listen.

This is when I draw closer to Yah, not through man-made holidays, but through intentional stillness. Read Scripture, pray, and create space to hear His voice.

You don’t need lights or festivities to feel connected—just truth, stillness, and the Word.

"Be still, and know that I am Elohim." – Psalm 46:10

2. Release the Pressure of Traditions

Let go of the pressure to perform.

Ask yourself: Does this tradition align with truth? Or is it something I’m doing out of habit or guilt?

When you let go of traditions rooted in stress, your soul can breathe.

"Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." – Romans 12:2

3. Embrace Community, Not Overload

You don’t have to do everything alone—or everything at all.

Delegate tasks, say no when you need to, and embrace quiet moments with people who bring peace, not pressure.

This season isn’t about appearances—it’s about alignment.

4. Set Boundaries & Keep Them Sacred

Perfection is a trap. You’re not called to impress—you’re called to rest.

Set clear expectations for yourself and your family.

If something drains you more than it fills you, it’s okay to let it go. Protect your peace.

5. Make Room for Real Rest

The winter season naturally calls us to slow down—so honor that.

Rest isn’t laziness—it’s obedience to the rhythm Yah created.

Take naps, journal, take walks, do nothing—and don’t apologize for it.

When you rest, you show your children what it looks like to live aligned.

You don’t need to wait until January 1 to reset. You can reclaim your peace now.

This winter, let’s choose rest over rituals, peace over pressure, and truth over tradition.

Let it be a season of renewal, not burnout.

What to Wear for Your Fall Family Photos

Fall is a season of warmth, vibrant colors, and cozy moments, making it the perfect time for a family photo-shoot. If you're a mom blogger preparing to capture the essence of autumn with your loved ones, choosing the right outfits is key to creating timeless memories. In this blog post, we'll explore seven tips to help you and your family look effortlessly stylish during your fall photoshoot, featuring some fantastic finds on Amazon.

  1. Coordinate Colors, Don't Match: While matching outfits can be tempting, opt for coordinating colors that complement each other instead. Embrace the rich tones of fall by incorporating warm hues like deep reds, mustard yellows, and earthy greens(which is my all time favorite). This creates a visually appealing and harmonious look for your family.

  1. Layers Add Depth: Fall weather can be unpredictable, so consider layering your outfits. This not only adds depth and interest to your photos but also allows you to adjust to changing temperatures. Think about scarves, cardigans, or stylish jackets that complement your chosen color palette.

  1. Texture Matters: Incorporate different textures to add dimension to your photos. Consider fabrics like knit, denim, or faux fur for a cozy and visually appealing touch. Textured accessories, such as a statement belt or chunky scarf, can elevate your look without overpowering it.

  1. Accessorize Thoughtfully: Accessories can make or break an outfit. Choose accessories that enhance the fall theme, such as wide-brimmed hats, leather boots, or statement jewelry. Be mindful not to overdo it – a few well-chosen accessories can go a long way.

  1. Consider Your Setting: Think about the location of your photoshoot and let it inspire your outfit choices. If you're surrounded by nature and foliage, earthy tones may work best. In an urban setting, you might opt for more modern and streamlined looks. Tailoring your outfits to the environment ensures a cohesive and visually pleasing result.
